Freeport

We had a couple weeks off that the boys played a lot
 and just enjoyed being dogs

they love to wrestle

the Freeport  show was kinda crazy the first day Al showed Ash
in juniors and got a first place open senior.  at the same time I thought I
was gonna have to show Buzz  until Al got there but our friend Mary said she
would take him in so she got him in the ring and Al arrived and was allowed to
switch but nothing for buzz that day and Ash didn't make it for breed
Day 2 Al took Buzz in for juniors and should have gotten 1st but the
judge gave it to the boy that looked most like him.
Look how he is standing

Al doing a great job in juniors
We had the same judge for breed so we weren't expecting much
but I was wrong he loved Ash and gave him first in the class

We were very excited and Ash ended up getting reserve to the puppy
then in the ring with Buzz again there were 3 specials 2 boys and a girl.  The judge gave
Spike BOB, winners dog BOW, and winners bitch BOO, no select anything

I guess we never need to show Buzz to him again

When the show was over we rushed home so Al could race his cardboard boat
(a physics class assignment)
It was cool sat 2 people made of cardboard and duct tape

We must be crazy

So I think we must be totally crazy, you see we thought it would be fun
to drive out to see my sisters new house in Longmont Co.  the 14 hour drive  wouldn't be bad if we had a couple days to do it but we left after school on Thursday to be there to show by 8:00 am on Friday.  There was a back to back Keeshund speciality on Friday and a sporting breed speciality also so Al showed in Juniors 3 times and breed.  There was also all breed show's on Saturday and Sunday.
Ruth has a great new house with a yard to die for there are a couple small stone ponds that the boys loved.  Buzz was being silly stretching out to get a drink

Al even went in the ponds to play with the dogs as Ash kept a close eye ( he was ready to jump in and save his boy if anything went wrong)
Ash looking very interested at the other dogs

Ash moved great in the ring (as always) but got 2nd of 2
And nothing for Buzz but he is looking great and Al worked on happy dogs in the ring.
He was very tired ( and didn't know I took this while he was sleeping so please don't tell him)
The all breed days were the same outcome for Ash and Buzz ( oh well you cant win everyday)
Juniors was a different
Al showed Moon in the kees specialties and on Saturday with Best junior for both of the specialties and a 2nd in class on the all breed
He showed Buzz on Sunday and got 2nd in his class again so Junior points with both Buzz and Moon this weekend
On the way home Ash and Al had some great bonding time as both were very tired
And Ash didn't want Buzz to feel left out so he snuggled with him some also

Over all a short but great weekend and many thanks to Ruth and Ken for having us.

its good to be golden

Every once and a while everyone has a day that everything goes right well this was Al's weekend

on Saturday he started off at 8:30 in the morning with juniors where he and Buzz could do no wrong the judge loved them and rewarded there work with Best Junior Handler.  There were some great kids there so it was a great feeling to see his hard work come together
Alex and Buzz Best Junior
They then had to wait till 2:00 for breed where Ash had a little bit of a rash but looked good and took 2nd and Buzz was on a roll and owned the ring he looked great and...
 took Best of Breed

He was showing the whole time and Al was working it and it all payed off
So off to the group ring for the first time

He had lots of support in the group ring and a great cheering squad outside.  The handler that teaches his conformation class was in the ring with the Brittany she handles but she was really excited for Al.  No group placement but what a day

So day 2 we had a conflict ion with breed and juniors so Al showed Ash in Breed and got reserve then headed off to juniors hoping he might make it back in time for breed.  No luck with that but it all worked out when Al won his class and then was awarded Best Junior Handler.  The judge said they worked together nicely
A great hall for 1 weekend

when it was all over they all took naps

Congrats to my boys

West Burlington, Iowa

The boys really love to go running at the lake so we have been trying to get there whenever we can they run through the deep grass and trees and then cool of in the lake.
Ash stopping for a quick photo op.
Buzz coming out of the lake for a tennis ball he likes to play fetch in the water
they are together most of the time you would think the grew up together

West Burlington Iowa had some ups and downs. Ash started limping in the ring on Saturday and was excused ( he was fine before going in and there didn't seem to be any thing wrong with his paw after ) I'm not sure what caused this but he was jumping around playing with Buzz at the hotel later I think he may have stepped on a little rock going into the ring but we will be keeping a close eye on him for a few days.  He did win his class on Sunday so that was nice.
.  Al also showed a little girl named Carly she is a little timid normally but did a nice job for Al on Saturday but on Sunday she started bunny hopping and wouldn't stop so not as good that day but the goal was to help her with her shyness and he was very effective at that.

WAY TO GO BUZZ
Buzz got select dog both days with 1 point each day he would have gotten 2 each day but with Ash excused on Sat. and 1 boy not there on Sun. brought it down to 1 point

Al showed Buzz in Juniors both days we didn't want to push Ash in case there is a problem.  On Saturday Al got 3rd and on Sunday he got 2nd so a few more Junior points

Over all a great weekend
